How to Play

Princess Goldblade and the Dangerous Waters is a free and fun online platforming game done in a retro style similar to a number of games on the Super Nintendo. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Game Controls

Tap on the screen or use your mouse and click on the start button to start the game.
Use the left and right arrows on the keyboard to move left or right.
When near an enemy press the C key to attack them.
Press the X key to jump.
On the screen in the upper left corner there is a pause button. The space bar also pauses the game.
This key configuration where you do jump and attack with the left hand and move through the level with the right hand is backward of how Nintendo and other console makers trained us, so it can take a bit of time to get used to.
Levels
- This game consists of 8 levels and an overview map.
- You have to beat each level sequentially to unlock the following level.
- From the overview map you can go back to any previous level at any time.
- The overview map shows if you got the 22 diamonds and the gem from each level.
- Strategy
  - This game offers infinite lives, so playing it is more about the nostalgia Super Nintendo feel the graphics give you rather than a difficult challenge. It is fun, but not a lot of strategy is needed to beat it!
    - If you like this game but want one which is much harder & requires more strategy check out DoReMi Fantasy on the Super Famicom, as that game was so tough you had to beat the end guy (or gal!) twice in a row!
    - In the middle of the levels there are many save spots which are a vertical gray bar holding a pink gem. These fill up your power and if you die by falling into the water or getting hit too many times you start at the prior save spot.
    - Most of the bosses or mid-level powerful enemies like the bull and the sea monster are easy to beat. You swing repeatedly until they are about to attack and then back off. Then repeat this pattern.
    - Some blocks you can walk on fall away after being walked on.
    - If you fall into the water and catch a gem on your way into the water that gem stays in your collection.
